Become an AVP VOLUNTEER

AVP is always in need of volunteers, for special events, as well as for longer-term participation in our various programs. If you are interested, simply fill out our Volunteer Information Form.



Volunteer Hotline Training

Our next 30-hour training schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, April 12th 10am-5:30pm
  • Sunday, April 13th 10am-5:30pm
  • Thursday, April 17th, 24th 6pm-9pm
  • Thursday, May 1st 6pm-9pm
  • Saturday, May 3rd 10am-5:30pm
All classes are held at the Anti-Violence Project 240 West 35th Street, Suite 200 between 7th and 8th Avenues. Upon successful completion, volunteers will be New York State Department of Health Certified Rape Crisis Counselors. We ask that volunteers make a year-long commitment to volunteer with AVP once a month, if possible. For more information, contact Darlene Torres at 212-714-1184 or dtorres@avp.org.
