Become an AVP Volunteer

AVP is always in need of volunteers, for special events, as well as for longer-term participation in our various programs. If you are interested, simply fill out our Volunteer Information Form.

Volunteer Hotline Trainings in 2010

Our next 30-hour training schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, January 16th, 10am-5:30pm
  • Sunday, January 17th, 10am-5:30pm
  • Wednesday, January 20th, 6pm-9pm
  •    Wednesday, January 27th, 6pm-9pm
  • Wednesday, February 3rd  6pm-9pm
  • Saturday, February 6th 10am-5:30pm

All classes are held at the Anti-Violence Project 240 West 35th Street, Suite 200 between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Upon successful completion, volunteers will be New York State Department of Health Certified Rape Crisis Counselors. We ask that volunteers make a year-long commitment to volunteer with AVP once a month, if possible.
