PROSPECT PARK ALERT

IT'S NOT OVER
TAKE CARE IN THE PARK
NEW INCIDENT: On July 30, a witness saw a man brandishing a gun and yelling anti-gay epithets and threats in the
"Three Circles" area of Prospect Park. This area is adjacent to the "Vale of Cashmere." It is not certain whether this man is
related to the earlier slashings in the park.
Above is a sketch of a man police would like to question in connection with a knife attack in January. That attack was only
the latest one in a series of attacks in the Vale of Cashmere and elsewhere in the park. Descriptions of the attacker in the earlier
attacks indicated a man wearing all black with a mask, cap, hairnet or scarf covering much of his face. It's possible that one man
may be responsible for all of these attacks.
Safety Tips:
- Try not to go into the park alone
- Go with a friend!
- Stay Alert - Be Aware - Trust Your Gut
- Avoid the Park while Intoxicated or High
- Try and stay on the more populated paths and in well lit areas - anything such as trees, bushes or buildings that can camouflage you, can camouflage an attacker
$12,000 Reward
for information leading to the capture
and conviction of this man

A T T E N T I O N
Because of the ongoing attacks, the increased NYPD presence in Prospect Park will continue. The police may be stopping and questioning people. Additionally, if you are found in the park after the 1AM curfew, you may be handcuffed, taken to the precinct, questioned, put through the system to determine whether you have a prior record (fingerprinted, rap sheet run), and at the very least, issued a summons for trespassing in the park.
