Community Alert: Report of MTA Police Department assault and misconduct in Grand Central Station

The New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP) was outraged to learn of Jesse Archer’s report of police assault and misconduct in Grand Central on Friday night. After speaking with the New York Police Department (NYPD), AVP has learned that the police involved were Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Police Officers. AVP is demanding that the MTA Police begin an immediate investigation of this incident. AVP is committed to working with all victims of police brutality to receive the services and support that they deserve and to holding the police accountable for their actions.

COMMUNITY ALERT: HELL’S KITCHEN BIAS ATTACK

The New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP) has learned of a bias attack in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood which occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 26, 2009. During this incident, three men were physically assaulted by an individual using anti-gay epithets and hate language toward the victims.
