Sexual Assault AVP Sexual Assault Statistics Sexual Assaults have comprised 8% of AVP's caseload for each of the past three years, from 1994 through 1996. There were 317 sexual assault cases opened during those three years. Men were victimized in 62% (118 of 190) of the sexual assaults reported to AVP during 1995 and 1996. Of these men, 86% (101 of 118) were gay and 7% were bisexual.
